Here is an example of a historic service station, now looking better than it
did for much (if not all) of its working life.
Arlington, Missouri. Its not really a town, but it is the end of another
section of Route 66. This one was marked. The entrance proclaimed "no
access back to the Interstate".
Another dead end. This closure was of this 1932 bridge was of recent origin.
It was open three years ago when I came this way. But no more.
A view rearward. Headed west.
Route 66 goes though eight states, but only thirteen miles of the 2,000
plus miles is located in the Sunflower State.
Day three. Overnight tonight is in Miami, Oklahoma. Headed west.
I WILL EDIT AND ADD NARRATIVE FOR TODAY LATER.
It is fascinating that you are sharing the trip with other 66 pilgrims. Your pix are excellent - love the old diner and service station.
